Furniture from the 1950s and 1960s inspired Catarina, especially the armchairs designed by Gio Ponti with highly feminine, rounded forms. Catarina also balances sharper, more defined lines with a soft form that becomes more expressive through contrast. Solid walnut legs have rounded or oval profiles that reinforce the balance between masculine and feminine elements. The three-leg construction creates a lightness that is more difficult to achieve with four legs.

THE RIGID LEATHER SHELL WRAPS AROUND THE FORM WITH REFINED PRECISION, CREATING A SILHOUETTE THAT RECALLS THE LIGHTNESS OF A PETAL. THREE ELEGANT WOODEN LEGS SUPPORT THE SHELL, ADDING AIRINESS AND DYNAMIC ENERGY.

The armchair has a wooden seat frame with interwoven elastic webbing. The metal backrest structure is upholstered in leather with a special raw-edge finish, available in Soffio, Setanil and Natural Velour. Unspecified preferences result in edges lacquered to match. The seat cushion uses two-density polyurethane foam covered with a double layer of acrylic fibre. The back cushion uses siliconised acrylic fibre. Solid wood legs are available in bleached Canaletto walnut or black ash. The bleached Canaletto walnut finish is completely natural, so variations in wood tone and grain may occur.
