Manuela Busetti and Andrea Garuti met while studying Industrial Design at the Istituto Europeo of Design in Milan. Manuela Busetti and Andrea Garuti addressed design challenges together during their academic years. In 2004, the year of the XX Compasso d’Oro ADI, Manuela Busetti and Andrea Garuti received the “Progetto Giovane” selection for their degree thesis project, “Double”, an innovative cooler bag made from neoprene. From 2004, Manuela Busetti and Andrea Garuti developed individual collaborations with product and advanced design studios in Milan. Manuela Busetti and Andrea Garuti also worked together as freelance designers on international competitions and projects for manufacturing companies in tableware, bathroom fittings, sanitaryware and furniture. In 2007, Manuela Busetti and Andrea Garuti won first prize in the international “Playing Design” competition organised by the city of Lissone in partnership with La Triennale di Milano. The winning project was “Culla Belly”. In 2008, Manuela Busetti and Andrea Garuti were selected for the experimental project “Prime Cup 01”, promoted by Regione Lombardia and Triennale di Milano. The project aimed to improve innovation among selected SMEs in Lombardy. The projects were exhibited and presented to the public at the Agora theatre at Triennale di Milano. Matteo Redaelli graduated as an Industrial Designer from the Istituto Europeo of Design in Milan in 2007. In 2007, Manuela Busetti, Andrea Garuti and Matteo Redaelli began working together through a shared collaboration with a design studio in Milan. In 2008, Manuela Busetti, Andrea Garuti and Matteo Redaelli began developing projects together, combining their different skills and sensibilities. The partnership led to collaborations with manufacturing companies in kitchen and bathroom taps, tableware, kitchenware, cooktops and ovens, and indoor and outdoor furniture.
