When light sounds: Milan Design Week 2022
Camilla Bellini created the LA project for Milan Design Week 2022. Italamp transformed Studio Deco into a theatrical palette, with the LA lamp as the central performer. Light and sound became one composition. The lamp suggests the note «A» when switched on, creating a carefully designed sensory effect .
The LA lamp places light inside a light-gold cage. A white glass bud sits inside the structure like a flower shaped through the traditional «cage blowing» technique. The glass passes through the metal cage during blowing, then cools into smooth, organic lines .
Details that make a lasting impression
The smaller LA lamp measures approximately 22 × 19 × 31 cm. The larger version measures 32 × 27 × 42 cm. LED lighting provides illumination, and touch control adjusts the brightness. The collection includes a wireless battery-powered version and a table lamp with a cable. Each format creates a different setting, from a full performance to an intimate scene .
Camilla Bellini is more than a designer
Camilla Bellini brings more than a lamp to the project. Camilla Bellini works across interiors, products, promotion, Instagram and marketing while also writing a book. Camilla Bellini uses light to make spaces feel alive. Camilla Bellini combines the roles of director, actor, screenwriter and producer with the energy of a single creative practice.
Why the project matters
Designers can create more than objects. Designers can create ideas, emotions, sounds and atmosphere. Italamp trusted Camilla Bellini, and the collaboration produced a lamp that does more than illuminate. The LA lamp creates a living visual and acoustic impression.
