Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby were born in the United Kingdom in 1969. The designers met while studying architecture at the Royal College of Art in London. The designers founded Barber Osgerby in 1996. The studio quickly became one of Europe's most influential design practices. Barber Osgerby has created projects for Vitra, Knoll, B&B Italia, Hermès, Cappellini, Flos, Venini, Magis and many other international brands over three decades. Notable works include the 2012 London Olympic Torch, the Tip Ton chair for Vitra and numerous architectural installations. The designers' works form part of the permanent collections of the Victoria and Albert Museum, MoMA, Design Museum London and the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

The name Bellhop refers to hotel porters. The silhouette recalls a traditional service bell.

Bellhop Glass (2022)

Bellhop Glass retains the recognisable proportions of the original series. The collection replaces the metal body with a blown-glass diffuser.
