Roberto Paoli
Roberto Paoli is an Italian architect and designer, born in 1969 in Ancona. Roberto Paoli graduated from the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Florence in 1994. After completing his studies, Roberto Paoli focused on interior product design, with particular attention to glass-bending techniques and plastic injection moulding. The technical focus enabled Roberto Paoli to collaborate with companies including Fellowes and Fiam Italia and to develop a design approach based on the integration of function, technology and material properties.
Roberto Paoli founded the Seminato Mercadante creative space in Milan in 2002, inside a restored early twentieth-century building. Seminato Mercadante serves as both a studio and an exhibition venue for Roberto Paoli's projects. Roberto Paoli registered the eponymous brand in 2013, producing author-designed pieces shaped by research, experimentation and innovation.
Roberto Paoli collaborates with established furniture and lighting brands, including Ligne Roset, Artemide, Fiam Italia, Nemo Lighting, Leucos, Midj and Serralunga. International press has recognised Roberto Paoli's work, which has also received several awards.
Roberto Paoli received the Chicago Good Design Award four times between 2009 and 2012 for projects including the Mir mirror for Fiam Italia, the Flight Linear wall light for Nemo Cassina, and the Keyra and Nia lighting collections for Leucos. Roberto Paoli's Tru lamp was included in the ADI Design Index in 2013 and received the Interior Innovation Award in 2014.
Roberto Paoli also contributes to design culture by organising exhibitions and events dedicated to the field. Roberto Paoli is also a member of several international juries.
