Stefano Traverso was born in Genoa and developed an early interest in form and space. Stefano Traverso was born in 1973 and later pursued industrial design at Scuolaitalianadesign in Padua, one of Italy’s leading educational centres for combining craft practice with innovative thinking. Scuolaitalianadesign shaped his development as a designer with an architectural approach to objects.

Stefano Traverso began his professional career with architectural projects and work at the Riforma studio under Enzo Berti, a recognised master of Italian product design. The experience established his attentive approach to proportion, composition and the balance between function and aesthetics. Design represents a dialogue between form and space for Stefano Traverso, with light playing a central role.

Stefano Traverso now collaborates with several Italian brands, including Italamp, Pinton, Voltan, Flai and Touchdesign, creating furniture and lighting that address function and emotional perception. Stefano Traverso’s projects for Italamp show a deep understanding of materials, especially glass and metal, alongside a focus on clean lines and concise lighting forms. Stefano Traverso’s Italamp lighting combines restraint, architectural logic and expressive simplicity, adapting easily to interiors while retaining a distinct design identity.

Stefano Traverso has also taught at Scuolaitalianadesign since 2001, sharing professional experience and knowledge with a new generation of designers. Stefano Traverso’s academic work connects theory with practice and education with manufacturing.
