The Maxim table sculpture emerges from the inseparable connection between a three-petal form and the material shaping the design. The round designer table reveals the time and craft invested in its creation, much like a sculpture formed by hand. Maxim meets the requirements of more environmentally conscious design through hand finishing and cold-forming techniques that do not use energy resources. Industrial processes support the high level of craftsmanship required for pouring liquid cement and completing the finish by hand. The contemporary table base is available in a clay finish or Oxy, a refined lacquer coating with a hand-brushed effect applied by skilled craftsmen. Maxim is available in two versions: a round table with a transparent glass top that displays the sculptural base as a whole, and the fully clay-finished Maxim Argile, which creates a more organic appearance. “When one material is enough, without additions or supplements, the result is a pure, even object that becomes a finished product,” say designers Pio and Tito Toso.

Maxim Table Technical Information

The Maxim table has a cement base with a clay finish in Cairo (AR05), Oslo (AR09) or Marrakech (AR11), or a polymer-material base in Oxybrass or Oxygrey finishes. The tabletop uses 12 mm transparent or extra-clear glass with edges bevelled inward. Small pores and colour variations in the cement base are characteristic of pressure-cast material and are not defects.
