Day Two in Milan: Salone del Mobile and the Architecture of Experience
Work at Salone del Mobile 2026 continues: key brands, searches for new factories and immersive spaces where design extends beyond the exhibition, from Baxter’s villa on Lake Como to Poliform’s large-scale dual presentation in Milan.
The second day in Milan focuses on the leading professional event, Salone del Mobile 2026. Salone del Mobile 2026 shapes the current interior design agenda through new collections, materials and spatial concepts that will influence the market in the coming years.

The itinerary focuses on leading Italian brands: Bonaldo, Cipriani, Cattelan Italia and Barovier&Toso. The brand presentations demonstrate different approaches to contemporary interiors, from expressive furniture forms to complex work with glass and light.

The main task of the day extends beyond established names. The team is deliberately looking for new factories that are not yet represented in the portfolio but can support more individual and unexpected interior solutions. Milan remains a place for discovery as well as presentation.

A separate stop on the route was Baxter’s villa on Lake Como, the La Casa sul Lago project. La Casa sul Lago is not a classic showroom but a private brand residence where design appears as a complete living scenario.

The villa presents a reimagined space with 1970s aesthetics, integrating the collections into the architecture of the house and the natural setting of the lake. The interiors form a sequence of spaces, from intimate living rooms to open terraces, where furniture design becomes a lived experience rather than an exhibition. The format reflects the brand’s strategy: Baxter creates an environment where furniture exists as part of a lifestyle instead of simply displaying furniture.

The day reached its high point with Poliform, which is presented in two spaces during design week and creates a unified brand experience.

The first space is a new flagship showroom in a historic palazzo on Piazza della Scala. Monumental architecture, a formal staircase and carefully planned interior scenarios create an almost palace-like setting where the product connects with architecture and lifestyle.
The second space is the brand’s installation at Palazzo Clerici, one of Milan’s notable historic palaces. Poliform works with emotion and concept as well as product, creating an artistic statement within a classical architectural setting.
The dual presence strengthens the effect: Poliform demonstrates both a coherent system and creative freedom while occupying different cultural levels of the city.
The second day confirms that Milan is more than an exhibition. Milan is a layered environment where new products, new names and new solutions can shape distinctive interiors and genuinely surprise clients.
