Five Fashionable Shades: 2021 Trend Colours

Antonovych Home designer Svetlana Antonovych presents the latest colour trends for 2021: «In partnership with Coloro, WGSN announced five key colours for 2021. Coloro is a WGSN subsidiary. WGSN is a London-founded trend studio that specialises mainly in forecasting fashion, consumer behaviour, retail and lifestyle trends.

Each colour selected for the 2021 palette draws inspiration from actions and sensations. Each colour represents a stage of physical activity and the feelings that the colour evokes in the human body. Each colour can support physical and mental wellbeing.

Neutral, calm shades of green and yellow draw inspiration from nature and natural materials. Contemporary blue and neutral grey are gender-neutral colours that encourage immersion and knowledge. Exciting tones such as red stimulate movement and intense emotions».

  1. A.I AQUA

Svetlana is inspired by this colour: «A.I Aqua is the star of the palette and the key colour of the season. The shade draws inspiration from the arrival of 5G and phone app palettes, where blue shades often appear in platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin.

Company analysis identifies this blue as the most technology-inspired colour in the palette.

Alongside its digital character, A.I Aqua has a psychological effect. The colour supports concentration during intensive activity. Blue suppresses hormones that make people feel sleepy and helps people stay focused and energetic.

Blue used by technology companies should become more engaging and emotional.

A.I Aqua also has strong commercial appeal».

2. GOOD GRAY

GOOD GRAY is a calm colour. Minimalist grey is slowly returning to fashion. Grey represents stability.

The WGSN x Coloro survey identifies a neutral tone for 2021. GOOD GRAY balances the other bright colours
in the palette.

The shade brings a minimalist quality while encouraging centred and calming responses.

Grey also relates to sustainability because grey resembles the final colour produced after recycled materials are mixed.

3.LEMON SHERBET

Yellow is an uplifting colour. Svetlana Antonovych says that the status of yellow has risen significantly.

Sales of yellow in the US womenswear market rose by 29% this year.

Although yellow was once considered a risky colour, the public responded positively. The soft shade creates a comforting feeling associated with sunlight, calm and relaxation.

4.OXY FIRE
Red has become increasingly popular and is a highly stimulating shade.

Oxy Fire draws inspiration from the clear success of orange and bright red. WGSN x Coloro identifies Oxy Fire as an extroverted colour for the season.

The energy of Oxy Fire promises to provoke a strong reaction. Oxy Fire offers an effective way to enliven a space and introduce life and energy.

5.QUIET WAVE

Green has appeared in most colour palettes in recent years, consistently referencing nature. QUIET WAVE is a quiet green version of the familiar Neo Mint.

The tone has futuristic qualities, along with cool and pale nuances.

Quiet Wave therefore becomes an ideal refreshing colour for the beginning of a new decade.
