Milan Design Week 2026: Salone del Mobile and the First Day of Our European Design Tour

Milan Design Week 2026 has opened in Milan, alongside Salone del Mobile, the international exhibition and a major event for the global interiors industry. On the exhibition's first day, teams from Solomia, Antonovych Home and Antonovych Design, joined by representatives of Poliform Kazakhstan, began a professional European design tour through leading Milan showrooms. The tour examined current design trends, materials and spatial solutions.

Milan as a Global Design Centre

From 20 to 26 April, Milan traditionally becomes a centre of the global interiors industry. Salone del Mobile brings together leading brands, architects and designers, shaping the visual and conceptual language of future interiors.

In 2026, the exhibition focuses on system-based design, the integration of technologies and materials, and the development of hybrid spaces. Kitchens, living areas and architecture operate as one structure within these spaces.

First Day of the European Tour: Professional Analysis Begins

The first tour day for the teams from Solomia, Antonovych Home and Antonovych Design, together with representatives of Poliform Kazakhstan, coincided with the official opening of Milan Design Week 2026.

The route was organised as an analytical study of key Italian design brands. The main objective was to examine contemporary interior solutions, spatial planning principles and current production approaches.

The first-day route included:

Modulnova showroom
Flexform showroom
Ditre Italia showroom

Modulnova: Architectural Kitchen Design

The Modulnova showroom focuses on developing kitchen systems as part of interior architecture.

The main areas observed included:

integrated kitchen compositions
monolithic island solutions
combining the kitchen, living area and bathroom in one system
materials as the basis of spatial language

Modulnova presents an approach in which furniture becomes an extension of spatial architecture.

Flexform: The Soft Structure of the Interior

The Flexform showroom demonstrates the development of upholstered furniture as a tool for shaping residential environments.

The key features included:

modular sofa systems
minimalist aesthetics
a balance of comfort and form
spatial planning through furniture compositions

Flexform treats the interior as a system of soft architectural elements.

Ditre Italia: The Emotional Layer of Space

The Ditre Italia showroom focuses on tactility and the emotional perception of interiors.

The main areas included:

soft modular solutions
pronounced material textures
fluid, enveloping forms
the interior as an environment of comfort and sensory experience

Ditre Italia creates an emotional and sensory layer within contemporary residential space.

The first tour day documented key approaches in contemporary interior design:

Modulnova: architectural kitchen systems
Flexform: compositional upholstered architecture
Ditre Italia: emotion and tactility
Poliform Kazakhstan: expert integration of international trends into regional practice
The opening of Milan Design Week 2026 and the first day of the Solomia, Antonovych Home, Antonovych Design and Poliform Kazakhstan European tour confirmed a shared industry direction. Interiors are becoming unified architectural systems rather than collections of objects. Each brand shapes a distinct spatial layer through structure, material and emotion.
