Alain Gilles is a Belgian designer known for expressive, functional and graphic interior objects. His work consistently seeks a balance between form, function and emotional perception.
A Career Change to Design
Alain Gilles did not begin his career as a designer. Alain Gilles initially studied political science and finance before working for several years at international corporations. At around 30, Alain Gilles decided to change his life completely and follow his true passion, design. Alain Gilles then enrolled at Institut Supérieur de Design in Valenciennes, France.
Alain Gilles opened his own Brussels studio, Alain Gilles The Studio, in 2007. The studio has collaborated actively with major European brands since its founding.
