Chiaramonte Marin

Chiaramonte Marin is an Italian design studio founded in 1989 by architect Alfredo Chiaramonte and designer Marco Marin. The duo is known for a minimalist, functional approach to furniture, lighting and interior objects. Chiaramonte Marin works are exhibited in museums around the world and published in international design media.

One of Chiaramonte Marin’s most notable creative directions is the collaboration with Czech lighting brand BROKIS. BROKIS revives the traditions of Bohemian glassblowing while combining traditional craft with modern technology and contemporary design.

The Knot collection is one of the best-known series created in collaboration with BROKIS. Knot expresses the distinctive Chiaramonte Marin style through a balanced combination of two contrasting materials, hand-blown glass and coarse natural rope. The combination creates a strong visual effect, with the soft forms of glass spheres meeting the graphic knot of the thick cord. The series includes pendant lights in different shapes, including Sfera, Uovo, Cilindro and Disco, as well as multiple sizes. The Knot Battery models are rechargeable portable lights suitable for interiors and outdoor spaces.

The Dome Nomad collection is another important result of the collaboration. The lights draw inspiration from Venetian architecture and the form of domes, while the design highlights the elegance of simple geometric shapes. Dome Nomad consists of portable, rechargeable outdoor lamps with rustic glass domes and durable construction that meets outdoor lighting standards. The Dome Nomad project earned Chiaramonte Marin the prestigious Archiproducts Design Awards 2021.
