Dan Yeffet

Dan Yeffet is an international designer working across object design, lighting, architectural objects and art installations. Dan Yeffet combines minimalism, sculptural form and technical invention. Dan Yeffet lives and works in Paris, collaborating with leading European brands and galleries.

Biography and education

Dan Yeffet was born in 1971 in Jerusalem, Israel. Dan Yeffet studied industrial design at Bezalel Academy of Art and Design. Dan Yeffet continued studying at Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam and received a diploma in industrial design in 2002. Dan Yeffet founded an independent studio in Amsterdam immediately after graduation. Dan Yeffet moved the studio to Paris in 2005, and the studio remains there today. The move marked a key stage in Dan Yeffet's career, because Paris shaped the recognisable style that combines European aesthetics with Israeli pragmatism.

Design approach

Dan Yeffet's work covers furniture, lighting, architectural projects and art projects. Dan Yeffet's design principles include clean, concise forms; a combination of craft techniques and modern technology; the use of volume and light as sculptural materials; and the creation of objects of desire rather than purely functional products.  Collaboration with BROKIS and Lucie Koldova

Dan Yeffet became widely known through collaboration with BROKIS and designer Lucie Koldova. Their joint projects became significant examples of contemporary lighting design: Muffins, Balloons and Shadows. The collections combine blown glass, wood and soft diffused light. The collections also became symbols of a new stage in Czech glass design. The Muffins series holds particular importance, because the series became a signature collection for the brand and helped bring the brand to the international market.

Projects and collaborations

Dan Yeffet has also collaborated with international companies and brands including WonderGlass, Linteloo, La Chance, oOumm and Roche Bobois. Dan Yeffet's portfolio includes furniture, lighting, glass sculptures, textiles, urban objects and limited-edition collections. Dan Yeffet also works actively in the gallery sector, creating unique objects and art pieces.

Dan Yeffet's work is represented in major museums and galleries worldwide, including Design Museum in Holon, V&A Museum in London, and museums in Chicago and Philadelphia.
