Fabio Calvi and Paolo Brambilla

Milan design studio Calvi Brambilla was founded in 2006 by architects Fabio Calvi (Pavia, 1969) and Paolo Brambilla (Lecco, 1973). Fabio Calvi studied at the Polytechnic University of Milan and Brunel University London, then worked with Gianfranco Frattini and Ferruccio Laviani. Paolo Brambilla graduated from Milan Polytechnic after an internship in Barcelona, taught interior design and served on the board of the Association of Architects of Milan.
Calvi Brambilla works across architecture, design, exhibitions and art direction, combining technical rigour with cultural depth. The studio has worked with Antonio Lupi, Cassina, Molteni & C., Saba, Zanotta, FontanaArte, Bialetti, Varaschin, Olivari, Flos and Il Fanale. Fabio Calvi and Paolo Brambilla have served as creative directors at Flos since 2019.
Calvi Brambilla created the Teardrop collection for Flos, the Sottosopra table, Ossimoro marble basin, Raindrop ceiling showerhead and a series of vases for Antonio Lupi. The designers developed the Tibidabo, Lapis, Bento, Bahia and Kolonaki outdoor furniture collections with Varaschin. The designers created the Ettore, Ettorino and Baio tables, the Logos sideboard, the Laurie armchair and the Verona cabinet for Pianca.
Calvi Brambilla exhibitions and projects have received several awards, including the Golden Medal of the Triennale (2015), ADI Design Index, Good Design Award, Archiproducts Design Awards and German Design Award (2018, 2021).
