Ossimoro Sculptural Marble Basin

The Ossimoro project seeks to transform the solid nature of stone into something fluid and almost alive. Inspired by the effect of deformation, the designers developed a unique 3D compression simulation technology that makes marble appear pliable, as though pressure had shaped the stone. The result is an expressive sculptural basin that combines parallelepiped geometry with soft contours.
The Ossimoro basin is made from Eastern White marble and resembles a totem carved from a solid block. The substantial yet graceful form gives the basin the presence of an art object that can become an accent in any interior. The freestanding structure allows connection to a floor-mounted or wall-mounted mixer.
The basin includes an open waste cover, a trap and a flexible hose. The floor drain creates a neat, integrated installation. Ossimoro embodies a paradox: solid marble shaped like a soft mass. The sculpture emerges at the intersection of technology, design and the poetry of form.
