Gabriele Pardi and Laura Fiaschi

Gabriele Pardi and Laura Fiaschi (Gabriele Pardi, Laura Fiaschi) founded the interdisciplinary Gumdesign studio in Viareggio in 1999. Laura Fiaschi is a designer born in Carrara in 1977, and Gabriele Pardi is an architect born in Viareggio in 1966. Gumdesign combines architecture, industrial design, graphic design and art direction. Laura Fiaschi graduated from the University of Reggio Emilia, while Gabriele Pardi studied at the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Florence.
Gumdesign projects feature expressive graphics, formal precision and functionality. Gabriele Pardi and Laura Fiaschi actively participate in educational programmes and teach at IED in Florence and Rome, the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, the University of Pisa and other higher education institutions. Gabriele Pardi and Laura Fiaschi have directed the IED master's programme in innovation in design and crafts since 2017.
Notable Gumdesign projects include the Cambiovaso vase collection for UpGroup, launched in 2008, Tramato rugs, Murano glass lighting for Siru, and the Swing tasting glass for Colle Vilca, which is held in the MoMA collection in San Francisco. Gumdesign has also created products for De Castelli, Fiat, Swarovski, Red Bull and other brands. Gabriele Pardi and Laura Fiaschi also work with the Venice Biennale and the London Design Festival.
Gabriele Pardi and Laura Fiaschi began working with AntonioLupi in 2020. The collaboration produced exhibition concepts, the Borghi bathroom furniture collection, and the Tratteggio, Superluna and Specchidicarta mirrors, which received the Edida award. Gabriele Pardi and Laura Fiaschi have served as creative directors of Styl'Editions since 2018.
Gumdesign studio works have been presented at the New Italian Design and Theater of Italian Creativity exhibitions, as well as in the Compasso d’Oro / ADI Design Index between 2009 and 2021.
