Biography and education

Lucie Koldova was born in 1983 in the Czech Republic. Lucie Koldova studied industrial design at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague (UMPRUM), one of Central Europe's most prestigious design schools. After graduating in 2009, the designer moved to Paris, where Lucie Koldova began developing personal projects and collaborating with international studios.

The Paris period played an important role in shaping Lucie Koldova's creative language. Lucie Koldova encountered diverse cultural influences and artistic traditions in Paris, and those influences later appeared in her work. Lucie Koldova opened her own studio, Lucie Koldova Studio, in 2012. The designer returned to Prague several years later and continues to work with international clients.

Collaboration with BROKIS

Lucie Koldova gained international recognition in 2010 through the Muffins and Balloons lighting collections created for the Czech glass lighting brand BROKIS in collaboration with designer Dan Yeffet. The models quickly became icons of contemporary lighting design and helped establish BROKIS internationally.

Lucie Koldova has served as BROKIS art director since 2014. Lucie Koldova defines the brand's creative direction and develops new lighting collections in this role. Lucie Koldova's work helped BROKIS expand its product assortment and introduce innovative technologies for handmade glass production.
