The D.859.1 table by Gio Ponti was designed in 1959 for the auditorium of the Time&Life building in New York. The table combines grandeur with simplicity, accommodates intimate gatherings and creates a strong architectural statement. With a length exceeding 3.6 metres, the table conveys a sense of movement, while the tapered tabletop and slender legs recall a clean aerodynamic form.
