Plissé Sculptural Washbasin

Plissé is a sculptural, freestanding washbasin that makes solid material appear light through its visual form. Vertical grooves cut across the surface like pleated fabric, interacting with light and shadow to create rhythmic relief and a fluid effect. The textile-like traces add an airy, expressive quality to the marble-like volume.
The Plissé project draws on the aesthetics of folded fabric and the desire to reproduce that sensation in a solid material. Hydro-abrasive cutting creates the complex texture and allows work with substantial stone thicknesses. The technology produces a lively surface in which every line results from the precise interaction of light, relief and material.
Flumood plays the central role in the Plissé project. Flumood is an innovative composite developed and patented by antoniolupi. The material has unusual tactile softness and high plasticity, allowing the dynamic quality of pleating to appear with maximum detail. The complex relief has an intentionally irregular rhythm that reflects the philosophy of aesthetic imperfection, adding vitality and individuality to every element.
Plissé is designed for floor-standing installation and comes complete with a siphon, flexible connection, open plug, and cover with a floor drain. The washbasin is more than a sanitary fixture.
