Cattelan Italia Gibson Sofa

The design reflects on Cubism, an artistic movement that reduces objects to essential forms and frees objects from established conventions. The concept creates a contemporary sofa and an emblem of modular design, with a block arranged in elements of different heights and depths for extensive configuration. The sculptural aesthetic preserves comfort. The deep seat combines a soft-touch upper layer with firm polyurethane padding. Gibson creates an island-like retreat from everyday activity and a setting for relaxed gatherings. The two-sided layout supports social use in large open spaces. The layout suits calm residential interiors and formal rooms for entertaining guests. Additional stitching on the sofa side expresses Italian craftsmanship and imitates the drapery of an elegant home. The stitching creates subtle tension lines that recall the taut strings of the Gibson guitar, which gives the sofa its name as a tribute to the iconic music brand. Bolster cushion headrests and movable armrests complete the design. The armrests adjust to the backrests.

The Gibson modular sofa has a wooden frame, polyurethane padding and ABS feet. Back cushions contain a blend of down and filling. The fabric upholstery follows the catalogue samples. A table module has a Marmi ceramic insert in Alabastro (KM02), Golden Calacatta matt (KM05), Golden Calacatta glossy (KM06), Portoro matt (KM07), Portoro glossy (KM08), Sahara Noir glossy (KM09), Makalu (KM11), Breccia (KM12), Corcovado (KM14), Kaindy (KM16), Borghini Calacatta matt (KM18), Borghini Calacatta glossy (KM19), Colosseo (KM21), Andromeda (KM22), Invisible matt (KM24), Taj Mahal (KM26), Giava (KM27), Darwin (KM28) or Luxor (KS23). The upholstery is removable.
