Bonbori Outdoor Lighting

Bonbori is the first outdoor lighting collection in the BROKIS portfolio, created by internationally renowned Japanese designer Fumie Shibata. Traditional paper lanterns inspired the collection. Japanese harvest festivals place traditional paper lanterns along paths leading to temples and sacred sites. The Japanese word “bonbori” describes both the traditional lantern and the soft glow coming from a snow cave.

Bonbori lighting meets the IP44 standard for outdoor use. Each light has a simple stainless steel metal post with an environmentally friendly powder coating that resists weather conditions. A removable LED light source operates in sub-zero temperatures. The LED source softly illuminates the space through the diffuser and laser-cut openings in the base.

Bonbori achieves the form and aesthetic of a traditional lantern through an elegant blown-glass shade made from several carefully shaped layers. The glass is available in opal or opaline finishes. The metal base is available in matt black, metallic copper or metallic grey. The light is designed for underground connection.

Bonbori suits gardens, terraces and other outdoor spaces. The collection creates soft, festive lighting for private moments, family gatherings and time with friends. An indoor version of the collection is also available.
