Giorgio Bonaguro designed the Cusco sofa for Carpanese Home. The Cusco sofa forms a modular furniture system inspired by the cyclopean walls of ancient Latin American cities. Voluminous, geometric and complementary forms connect like brickwork to create varied seats, junctions and backrests. Flexible solutions suit any space. The front view feels comfortable and welcoming, while the side view creates an unexpected impression. The first glance reveals a simple system, while the concept, aesthetics, production technology and quality combine in a project that received the Archiproducts Design Award in 2022. The annual award brings together leading creative minds in architecture and design and recognises high design quality, innovation, and a balanced relationship between functionality, technology and beauty.

Technical information
The Cusco sofa system includes sofas and corner sofas made with EPA-certified plywood, fir and fibreboard. Open-cell polyurethane foam and Dacron form the layered padding, while elastic webbing provides the sprung base. Upholstery is available in leather or fabric, supporting configurations for different spaces and seating requirements.
